Beautiful, defined arms are an expression of fitness and youthfulness. But the skin on the inner side of the upper arms in particular is extremely thin and tends to slacken early — through the natural ageing process, a genetic weakness of the connective tissue or after weight loss. Once the skin hangs, it can no longer be firmed even by the most intensive triceps training.

The different techniques of the arm lift
Not every case of slackening requires the same procedure. We adapt the incision individually to your anatomical conditions and your wishes.

Mini arm lift
For a small amount of excess skin, concentrated mainly near the armpit. A small, spindle-shaped incision is placed directly in the armpit, and the skin is drawn there and fixed. The scar is hidden almost invisibly in the natural fold, and the downtime is very short.

Classic arm lift
The gold standard with pronounced excess skin over the whole length of the upper arm. The incision runs along the inner side from the armpit to just before the elbow. Excess tissue is removed and the skin remodelled tautly — for maximum tightening and rejuvenation of the arm contour.

360° high-definition arm lift
A lipobrachioplasty — often stubborn fat deposits on the back of the arms are part of the problem too. We begin with a gentle VASER or vibration liposuction, and only then remove the excess skin. That way it settles better against the muscle, and the transitions to the shoulder and elbow look more natural.

Operation
On the day of surgery you are carefully prepared and meet your whole treatment team. Then follow photo documentation of the treatment region, the conversation and marking with your surgeon, and the preparation in your own room. The procedure takes place in our state-of-the-art operating theatres under general anaesthetic. We use tissue-sparing techniques and multi-layered sutures, to minimise the tension on the scar.

Recovery
After the procedure the healing phase begins — our team accompanies you step by step. Mild pain, swelling and bruising are normal, and you wear compression garments for several weeks. Light everyday activities are possible after a few days, and you can leave the centre on the day of the operation. At the check-up after a week we assess the course of healing and the result. Every body heals in its own way.

Frequently asked questions about the arm lift
Where exactly does the scar run?
With a classic lift it runs along the inner side of the upper arm. We place it so that it is visible neither from the front nor from behind when your arms are at your sides.
Is the pain severe after the operation?
No, the arm lift is considered low in pain. Most patients compare the feeling with a severe muscle ache.
When can I do sport again?
Walking is possible straight away. Sports that put strain on the arms (tennis, weight training, swimming) should be paused for at least 6 to 8 weeks.
Can I combine the operation with breast surgery?
Yes, that is often done. A combination with a breast lift or breast augmentation is possible in one session.
Does liposuction alone help against “bingo wings” too?
Only if the skin is still very elastic. With genuine excess skin, liposuction alone would make the problem worse, because the covering would then be emptier still.
When will I be able to work again?
With office jobs usually after a week. Physically heavy work (lifting) requires a break of about 3 weeks.
Can the skin slacken again?
The tissue that has been removed is permanently gone. A healthy lifestyle keeps the result stable for decades.
Are there risks?
As with any operation there are risks such as swelling or post-operative bleeding. At the Kuzbari Centre these are very rare, thanks to high standards.
When can I go out in the sun again?
The scars should be protected from direct UV radiation (SPF 50 or clothing), to avoid pigmentation problems.
Is the result visible immediately?
The new shape is apparent immediately; the final result, once all swelling has subsided, after about 3 to 6 months.
From what age does the operation make sense?
There is no fixed age. What matters is your personal level of distress and the condition of the tissue.
